Winter Wonderland?

Is taking your cat out in the snow a good thing? I used to let Percy play in the snow, just to get some air in his lungs. He seemed to like the crunch, crunch of snow under his paws. But not the chill of snow between his toes. Actually, his favorite winter activity is log-walking.

Re: Winter Wonderland?

Simba saw the snow when I let the dogs out and he ran out as fast as he could. The first thing that he did was flop down and roll around in the white stuff. He was highly offended when I picked him up and carried him back inside. He loves it.

Re: Winter Wonderland?

Arianwen has yet to go playing in the snow. I'm keeping fingers crossed that we'll get some this year, and that she'll like it.
Last winter there was only snow on the ground 1 day, and it melted by 10am.

Re: Winter Wonderland?

Our (late) Jimmy was quite shocked when he first saw snow. He looked like he couldn't believe his eyes. But then he dived straight in - it was so funny to watch. Unfortunately we never had any really decent snowfalls when Jimmy was alive, but it was fun to watch him diving around in the light covering that we did get one year.

Snow won't hurt kitty, especially if you're there to let him back in when he gets tired of it.

When I lived in TN, my cats were insy-outsy, and they always seemed offended by the snow. As if they were saying "HEY! Who left all this junk in my yard??!? Darned kids!!"

We didn't have snow often enough for them to get all that bothered by

Re: Winter Wonderland?

Rotten adores snow, loves chasing it around, sniffing it, pouncing it, just can't get enough. But boy, when she wants back in, she wants in NOW

Re: Winter Wonderland?

George is an indoor only cat but for some reason, when it gets cold outside he really wants to go out. He's gotten out a few times but only once in the snow.

Re: Winter Wonderland?

My cats don't really like snow...they'll wanna go out onto the deck, but then they are like woah, there's cold wet frozen white stuff everywhere and then they'll wanna go back in.

Re: Winter Wonderland?

Well,On New Years Eve I took Percy for a romp in the snow! At first he wasn't too sure. But once he got there? He loved it! His paws went crunch-crunch. He wanted to track some critters whose prints he found in the snow. We even found a climbing-stump out back! I just might try again today...
