Laundry

I was doing laundry today and washing my sheets. Slasher and Ripper were lounging on the fresh sheets on the bed. I explained to them that I had washed them so that we all would have clean sheets to sleep on. They glanced at each other and then back at me, as if to say "What the heck is he rambling about now?"

Re: Laundry

Talk to them more often. I talk to mine so much, I know what they mean when they meow back at me.

Mine just never seem to understand about staying off the bed when I'm trying to make it. Great lumps under the sheets. Cats do not make for smooth, no-wrinkle bedding.

Re: Laundry

Mine would have said "about time, they were getting funky"

Re: Laundry

Izzy talks to me! She loves it when I put fresh clothes from the dryer on the couch to fold- she just snuggles into them and goes to sleep

Re: Laundry

I yell in a singsong newspaper boy's voice "Laundry! Fresh, hot laundry!" and Mousie comes running to snuggle in the pile. I pull articles of clothing out from under her as I fold. When I get near the end of the pile, I'll move her onto a stack of folded jeans while I finish the rest of the folding.
Mallie will come lay in the pile, but Mousie is the only one who comes running for 'fresh, hot laundry'.

Re: Laundry

That's so cute! Arianwen likes fresh, hot laundry, too.

I talk to Arianwen so much, she understands most of what I say, and I understand most of what she says, too.

Re: Laundry

One of Murphy's favorite games is to interfere as much as possible when I'm trying to change my sheets. It usually takes about 15 minutes when it could take 5. Oh well, chalk it up to entertainment value.

Re: Laundry

I know you say they can understand you, but can you see their facial expressions? Squeaks and Jr. (aka Peanut) both have facial expressions. You can litterally tell when they are frowning or laughing. Taz on the other hand is always ticked off, so her face doesn't change!! LOL! My other cat Buddy used to ruffle the fur between his eyes, just above his nose when he was in a bad mood. It was quite comical!!
