This pill seems big...

I picked up a pill (program) to give Fozzy to help with his flea situation. See the pic below...does it seem really big or is it just me? He's only 12 pounds...[attachment=0:3j5v8u21]fozzy pill.jpg[/attachment:3j5v8u21]

Re: This pill seems big...

Heather, it does not seem that big. From the looks of it and what I could determine from its texture, the pill is probably meant to be crushed and sprinkled on to the pet's food.

Yup, I use pull pockets alll the time. This pill would have to be split in 4ths though and fed in 4 different pockets... I'm wondering what would be easier...that or crushing in his wet food like Don suggested...

Re: This pill seems big...

I had to give Zoey Capstar last year for a flea problem (I hate the wildlife that trapes through our yard only because of the fleas).
The pill was much smaller than that and she weighs 10 lbs.

Yeah, that is def. what concerns me...he's only 12 and the pill just seems huge for his size. Maybe I'll only give him half...

Re: This pill seems big...

What does it say it is on the other side of the pill?
It is possible to do a search on the meds online.
If I had a question about a med for me or my pet, I would ask the doctor/vet/pharmacist before giving it.
An overdose of the medication can be a health risk to your cat - maybe even fatal depending on what it is and the size of your pet.

That pill is really large. I would ask the vet how to give it.

Re: This pill seems big...

I agree, it would be a good idea to check on it.

It is big! Pill smaller than that, I'd cut it into smaller sizes.
