Kitty ingenuity

My very first cat tree lost it's head today. Heard a crash, came flying into the "office" area, and saw the top part of the cat tree on the floor. Called the cats over and checked them out, no one was hurt, thank goodness!

The whole tree:

and it's little top:

But bless their little hearts, it didn't stop my girls for a second. Cali walk over to it, wrapped her entire body around the post and started rolling around and clawing it. It's just far enough off the ground that the twins can roll completely around on it and not be squished. (Of course, my camera was in the other room.....)

That's my favorite one! I love that shade of blue. Can it be repaired?

Re: Kitty ingenuity

I don't think so, it didn't come unscrewed, they snapped off something up inside the leg part. They're always jumping from one cat tree (a couple feet away) to the top of the part they broke off. It amazed me when they did that! They're still using both parts. In fact, Cleo is inside the cat tree right now.

Re: Kitty ingenuity

I have a 3' tall carpet covered scratch post, the carpet is worn out so I sewed a sleeve of hubby's old jeans and put it over the post. They love to scratch the denim. Right now I'm using it for the foster kittens, and until they get a little more coordinated, I have it laying on its' side. They can scratch it and I think they like being able to sneak over/under it when they play. Yours looks like more fun because it has a rounded top and will roll. Challenging!
