Drinkwell Platinum

I just bought a new one... was getting sick of cleaning my Fresh Flow and constantly having to refill it so I'm giving it to my boyfriend for his cats since it can't keep up with my dog.

If anyone is thinking about buying one... the best deal I've found was:

http://www.valuepetsupplies.com

$48.89 and if you use the code WELCOME you get 10% off. Plus, it gets free shipping.

So the grand total is $44

Thought I'd pass that along.

Now... if anyone knows where I can get some really cheap ceramic bowls I'm looking to buy several for canned food and one or two for dry and maybe a water bowl for boyfriend's kitties. I want to toss his nasty plastic ones so badly!!

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

Try GoodWill, or flea markets. They often have ceramic bowls for $1 a piece, or less.

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

I know PetSmart has a lot of bowls that are probably not "cheap" but reasonably priced...and they are cute! Yup, get rid of those plastics, they can harbor bacteria whereas the glass ones don't.

Oh, I forgot that your bf had cats too...that's also nice to find a mate that is a cat lover too!

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

I bought several ceramic bowls for $1 each at Big Lots. Generic items like bowls are way overpriced at pet stores.

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

I didn't think to try dollar stores... I did manage to find some thrift stores on a shopping trip over the weekend but no luck finding what I want. The search continues.

So, I checked the status of the delivery of my fountain. Apparently, I got it today. Fedex says it was delivered at 8:38am this morning. I've been home all day (granted, I got up at like 10:30... but immediately went to take Brody to pee and no sign of a package). My brother was up but he's sleeping now, so I'll ask when he was up tomorrow.

I've NEVER had a problem with deliveries. Never had anything get stolen or anything like that. I'm really hoping it didn't get left at the wrong house or something... I'm going to call in the morning.

Anyone ever had a package tracked to your house that simply wasn't there?

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

I love our Drinkwell Platinum but for some reason we go through about 1 pump a year on it. They're supposed to last longer but for some reason they don't. I clean them like it says and everything. You can buy replacement pumps for about $20.00 from the Drinkwell manufacturer so it's not too bad.

Why not try Stainless Steel bowls? Those are cheaper than ceramic and easy to clean and sanitize.

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

I got my fountain today!

Apparently, the Fedex guy scanned the package delivered on accident so it came today and I hurried up to set it up before I had to go to work.

I LOVE how much water it holds!! I can hear it hum ever so slightly, while my Freshflow was practically silent. It isn't enough to bother me though. The one thing I do notice is that I can hear the water trickle as it hits the bottom. I'm hoping I just overfilled it and as the level goes down the water will hit the ramp and not make as much noise. Again, it isn't enough to bother me but it is still more noise than I'm used to.

I'm curious to see if Skylar will start to drink from it... I never saw her at the other one, but she eats about 90% wet with warm water added... so she may not drink at all. I do think I remember her drinking from the water bowl I used to keep down though. I may go back to having a bowl in my bedroom. Who knows.

Boyfriend is getting my Freshflow for his kitties. So everyone is happy

Re: Drinkwell Platinum

Osno, do you have a store called Ross near you? It's a discount store kind of like Marshall's or TJ Maxx, only much better. I found dish-type bowls for Murphy's food there for 99 cents each.
