Maggie & Toffee Cashews

Last night I was making some Toffee Cashews to give as gifts and Maggie went insane...She was jumping on the counter and trying to get into the nut roaster pan, the whole time just yapping away (which is not like her at all). She was batting my legs and smacking my butt and at one point leaped onto my shoulder (from the floor!). She was a total wild woman. But only while they were in the pot, once they finished cooking and I spread them on a cookie sheet to cool, she was totally disinterested. This isn't the first time I've made these nuts, but she's never acted this way before about anything, not even chicken or tuna!

I ended up putting her in the bathroom while I made the last 2 batches (and her friend Holly tried to break her out, she was literally pawing at the door handle to try and open it).

I never would have expected a cat to be drawn to toffee nuts like that....

Re: Maggie & Toffee Cashews

That's so funny. I can't believe she made it all the way to your shoulder! Our foster kitten Grace used to do that, but she was a little nuts. I bet Holly was confused that someone was in time out and it wasn't her.
