Its Going to be a Very Merry Christmas~ Thanks Geri
There are people who stand out. They have giant hearts for animal and go the extra extra mile to make a difference in rescues lives.
I came home from a long day and fell into bed. My sister came over later and brought in a box that had been by my front door and roused me up to go open it. It was from Geri ~ Owned By A Cat. When I opened the box bedlam erupted. Tears came to my eye. Packed into the box were 9 beautifully made cat beds, 7 catnip toys and boxes of digestible cat milk.
Chandlier my orange tabby foster immediately laid some of the beds to claim them. I couldn’t even get them unpacked. Then my shy foster, Spike, ran in. Chandlier ran him off so he couldn’t lay on the beds. I showed Chandlier one of the toys. Which he went crazy about. Spike tried to claim the toy but Chandlier, again, wouldn’t let him.
So Spike gave up and laid in the box with toys so no other cats could claim them. I took a few pictures to document it.
I had the pleasure of delivering these wonderful Christmas gifts to many of my small TNR group's fosters. I bought some of Best Friends Eco Green totes and put Geris gifts in them.
So many people who foster are behind the scenes, tirelessly working with kittens and cats. Bringing them back to health, socializing them, carrying them to vet appts., attending adoption events to speak with potential adopters on and on. Usually without much acknowledgement to all the TLC they’ve put into the cats so they become well rounded forever companions.
Thank you Geri! You really made a lot of people so happy and gave them a special Christmas. You are awesome.
