Monty's first vet visit.

We went on Tuesday for his first shots and to discuss neutering.

He hated the taxi ride, was crying at me the whole way but quietened down when we reached the vets and even started to purr when I talked to him.

The vet opened the carrier and Monty stepped out and started looking around the room with a look of utter amazement on his face as if to say: oh yeah, a new place to explore!

The vet examined him and gave him his shot and my kitty didn't even flinch as he was sooo interested in the smells etc.

The vet said he had never seen such a well behaved kitty

When we got home he kept wanting to get back in his carrier lol

His next appointment is in 2 weeks, he will no doubt hate me after that and will give the carrier a wide berth. I am already dreading it

Isn't if funny though, if you go to a doctors waiting room everyone sits there in silence but at the vets people talk to each other and coo over each other's pets

lol... that's because at a doctor's surgery you can't exactly say "oh and what are you in for?"

Good job Monty! Whenever one of my kids goes to the vets it's always a chore just getting them out of the carrier.

Aww, Monty, what a good boy he was! Nito was surprisingly good at his first vet visit too. At first he was naughty in the car because i put him in the carrier box that the humane society gave me (I didn't have a carrier at that point). But after he came out of that, and we were sitting in the exam room waiting for the vet, he was purring, and walking around, and being frisky! The vet absolutely loved him- "What a happy boy!"
