An early morning conversation ...

Tobys voice translated from all the incessant and gradually more desperate sounding meowing that was going on ...

Toby thinks ... need a wee.
Pokes his head in the litter tray .. sniffs around
Urgh ... Mum .. don't like it
Don't you like your your litter tray sweetie? Theres no nasties in there lambkin, its fine. Go on in.
But I don't like it
Its clean!
Its smelly. Its due a wash.
I was going to do that this evening, sweetie.
It wants washing now!
Fine. I'll wash it now. Won't be long
But I need a wee!
Sigh ...OK go in the garden then.
Opens door into back garden
You must be joking, I'm not going out there! Theres that horrible cold white stuff still around! Brr
Then you will have to wait
But I need a wee!
Hang on ... I'm doing the litter tray now
I NEED A WEE!
Look Mum, its ok, I'll just pee up the wall. See, I'm lifting my tail up right now ..
TOBY!!!
OK, OK ... I haven't done it. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I NEED A WEE!!!!!
Here's the litter tray, all cleaned out
THANK GOD!

A few moments later

I suppose you want me to scoop that out now
Yes please, Mummy.

This is what Jimmy used to do if we didn't let him out the front door quick enough when he decided he wanted to go out! I can just picture it now....

Good thing I'm the only one here at work so far. They would have thought I was nuts for laughing like that. Your conversation was hilarious!!!

. Well ... I just know how fussy he is over his litter tray. Any nasties in there, and he will not use it until its removed. There have been (only a few) times when the litter tray has not been scooped in time (usually when flatmate is in the house on his own ) and he has weed up the wall. He managed to set off a trip switch once, cutting off the electric supply to half the house by peeing on the TV plug (which was on at the time!).

If the litter tray is clean, so is he. If its dirty, so is he

I wash the litter tray out and completely change the litter about once a week. Guess I was a little late doing it this time ...

Maybe two litter boxes, so Toby has a "backup"?
Um, sorry about the unfortunate choice of word.
