Drooling.

So my cat Max loooves to drool while he purrs and someone pets him. I could probably hold those tiny paper cups and collect half a cup of his slober. Is this normal, and is there anything I can do to prevent getting drool on my lap or arm.

Yep, perfectly normal. My cat does this all the time.

Re: Drooling.

My Casper drools like a spigot. Last night in bed he was drooling and shook his head. What a shower!!!

Re: Drooling.

There was a grey and while little long hair named Noah at the shelter i volunteered at last summer. Whenever he was given attention he would start by mewing softly, leading into a rumbling rocket purr accompanied by profuse drooling. I loved Noah, and luckily he was adopted. Probably a good thing- I don't think I could deal with all that drooling! It never stopped! Nito drools occasionally too, when we are doing tricks together. I think it's a combination of purring, and desiring his favorite tasty treats that makes his mouth water.

Re: Drooling.

Arianwen sometimes drools, when she is totally 'blissed out', eyes half-closed, completely relaxed, and loud rumbling purr.
