cat adoption

Hi All! New to this board and I have a cat question. I have three adopted cats all of which I have adopted at separate times; two females and one male all over the age of 5..and the oldest is approximately seven. Yesterday I saw a beautiful 6-year old male ragdoll cat up for adoption. I am seriously thinking about adopting him. The only thing is I am concerned that my male cat may have dominance issues. He is very laid back and has a wonderful disposition. I am just wondering how he will react with another older male in the house as he has only been around females. Can anyone give me any suggestions or is it just too risky to adopt him? Thank You!

Re: cat adoption

It could probably work.... I haven't had to deal with this myself, but if you look through the Behavior section of this forum you will find lots of information on properly introducing cats to each other. If you don't find what you're looking for, send a PM to HeidinQ - you'll run across her posts everywhere and she's very experienced with cat introductions and socializing.
