New rescue kitty story!

My son just called from Ohio. He works at Akron Canton Airport for Airtran. They just found a calico kitten on the tarmac. She looks to be around maybe 4-6 weeks. He is going to keep her and is going to go tonight to the vets to get her checked. I told him there might be more around. How does a kitten get on the tarmac around all the jets at an airport? I bet there is more. He is concerned about introducing her to his cat. I am giving him introduction help. I think his cat will be fine. She is a scaredy cat anyways. And yes I know, I will try to get pictures.

Awww, the thought of a little kitten among all those jets and big pieces of equipment is just sad. I bet it was totally lost and didn't know what to do. Good for your son!!!

Poor litty kitty! She must have been so afraid! And now so lucky to be taken in by your son.

He said she has been running and playing. He is on the way to the vets now. Can't wait to find out how old she is and how much she weighs and if she is in good health!

Re: New rescue kitty story!

Sounds like she was birthed there and completely accustomed to the noise/activity and perhaps wandered too far from the nest, didn't keep up with the rest during a "field-trip" or mother-cat got spooked and dropped her and ran for her own safety, leaving unsuspecting kitten behind...
Best of luck to your son and his new baggage. =^..^=

Back from the vet. She had ear mites and fleas. She is in good health except for a uri. She is on antibiotics, dewormer and advantage. Definatly not going to see the other cat for a while. I would say maybe 3-4 weeks? Oh, she is 6 weeks old. Didnt check for diseases because of age. They didn't weigh her though! He is home and getting her settled in a bedroom. More info as I learn it.

I think Cali is 8.25 lbs. and Charlee is 8.5 lbs. They're two years old, so they're done growing. Well, taller anyways.

Cali, Cinderella, Cleo and Charlee

That would be nice for jazz. NOW, on the other hand, my Mango is about 18 pounds!
