Good Litter Mat recommendation?

I use a regular rubber cat litter mat with the bumpy texture. Just wondering if all litter mats are created equally or if any in particular really help prevent litter from being trailed out around the box. I keep the box in my bathroom and hate walking on litter with barefeet!

Re: Good Litter Mat recommendation?

I've just replaced mine with plush (inexpensive) bathroom rugs. I think they work even better, and I can just shake them out, vacuum them, or stick them in the washing machine.

Re: Good Litter Mat recommendation?

They do work pretty well. But the way I have my box set up, it's inside one of the cabinets under my bathroom sink. I have the rubber mat next to the box inside the cabinet (so he has to walk over it to get out) and a bathroom rug over the tile in front of the sink counter.

This is a great setup, out of the way/view, but this is also where I stand to wash up/brush teeth etc. So I was hoping that a better mat inside the cabinet would prevent the litter from trailing onto the rug and tile where I stand/walk.

Re: Good Litter Mat recommendation?

Heck, half the time my girls LEAP out of the litter box and don't even hit the mat or rug, so it doesn't even matter.

Re: Good Litter Mat recommendation?

Gee, I guess I COULD be a little less lazy, and shake out the rug more often.. But I was hoping to not have to resort to that...
