Traveling Kitty

I want to adopt a kitty but my current circumstances mean she will have to get used to two homes and travel. I work four days a week in one town where I have a studio apartment, and then I have a house 90 minutes away by car where I spend the other three days.
Will it be too difficult an adjustment for her going back and forth between the two locations, not to mention the car trips every week?

Re: Traveling Kitty

Before I moved in with my boyfriend, I used to bring Samson to visit every weekend (an hour in the car). Sammy was fine with the 2 houses and used to be fine in the car but he's not so good in the car now and cries every time we go in it! We adopted another cat just before I moved in with him - she's now a year old and she doesn't mind being in the car..

All cats are different as far as car rides go. And also with settling into new places to it's really hard to give a definite yes or no. It's not impossible but it does depend on the cat & his/her personality.

Re: Traveling Kitty

Two of my children have cats who come to visit often. Both cats have no issues coming over because htey do it often.

My cats don't travel as often, but they seem to take their cues from the dogs. If the dogs are happy.....

We don't feed the cats for 4 hours before they travel - my daughter's cat doesn't tolerate travel ona full tummy.
