cats,mats

Percy keeps getting knots/mats in his fur. They're very tough,so I've been pulling them out. When I combed him this morning,I noticed his coat's kinda dry and stiff.

Come to think of it,I'm having a bad hair day, too!

btw,pulling doesn't hurt Percy.

How does his breathing sound? Dry, stiff coat could mean mucusy saliva, an early sign of chest congestion.

Not trying to be an alarmist, just "better safe than sorry".

Rough, dry hair coat is not a normal thing and could mean he is sick, stressed, needs a dietary improvement, and many other things. If he's acting 'off' it might be time to see a vet.

Or maybe it's this dry winter! It's been doing awful work on my own poor hair! (Can you say split ends?!)
