Combining Households, 3 cats already, adding mine to make 4

Combining homes, 3 cats already in house one, adding mine which is a fourth. In the house already are two fixed males and one fixed female (none declawed). Female is about 12, the two males are around 6. My cat is a declawed and fixed male of 12. He grew up with a pet dog but hasn't been around another animal in 7 years or more and seems to dislike even new people, let alone pets.

Any advise for combining? I'd like to bring my cat over this weekend, I can lock him in his own room, or let him roam. All cats have had exposure for the past 3 years to scents on my clothes and things that have been brought back and forth between the houses.

My cat is going to be a bit stressed because I'm getting ready to sell my house and it's recommended he be gone if possible. So I'm taking him over this weekend to the new house where the other cats already reside (and have been since October, although they've been together as a 'family' for 6 years or more). So I won't be there to comfort him much after this weekend (I'll visit him on the weekends). He seems to really only like me...

I've read lots of different opinions on the best way to do this but none handled my specific situation. Two of the males (mine and one in the new house) tend to be pee'ers... occasionally peeing outside of the litterbox on stinky things here or there they don't like.

none go outside.

Oh, the three cats currently living there don't like each other. They tolerate each other but don't really fight (other than air slaps if one gets too close). The two males tend to like to terrorize the smaller female and chase her from time to time but that's about it.

Here's a site that may help, not sure if it's something you've already read:

And here's an article on urine spraying and territory issues:

There are other subjects that may be of interest to you:

Good luck!

and Welcome!

Welcome. A great book you could even find at a good used book store (I did) Cat vs Cat by Pamela Johnson-Bennett. Talks about territory and hierarchy in a group. Cats do like living in groups they just need their space. I would invest in some feliway disfusers and possible Composure Liquid. Put a shirt with your scent in the room you are going to keep him in for awhile. It can be a peaceful transition if you dont rush it.

That's a great book, I recently bought it.

Three years AFTER adding more cats, but it has great information.
