Kitty goes to the Cattery

My adorable little furbabie has gone to the Cattery
I'm going to miss him so much.

He's going there because at our house, we're having building going on, and he's going to be by himself all day because no one will be home. If one of the builders come's through the laundry door, and he is there, they might think he's an outside cat, and might let him outside. And if he gets outside, he could either get hit by one of the bob-cats or car, or gets lost.

But I can't wait for him to come home in 4 days!!

Good on you for making arrangements to ensure his safety while the place is worked on.

I've wondered what I'd do with Murphy if, for example, we were having a new roof put on the house. He'd hate the noise, of course, and have to be holed up in one room. Let me know if the boarding seems to go well. Good luck with the building!

I just had all six of mine boarded while work was done on my house. I hated to board them but the risk of them getting out of the house was too great. They were boarded for four days and did just fine.

You are right to board them and keep them safe, plus they don't have to deal with the noise and confusion of the construction. They'll soon be home, safe and sound!

He'll be fine, trust me! Mine are boarded each year for about 10 days when we go on vacation. I think they consider it a kitty vacation. Then, again, I can see why; the lady I leave them with spoils them even more rotten than I do

Mia and Fay had to spend yesterday locked in the side of the house with hardwood floors while the carpets and windows were being cleaned.

I left a sign that said "GATOS!! Ventanas ultimo" on the door to the south wing so that the cleaners would go in there last to do the windows because I was afraid they'd door dart. I spoke to the cleaners about that twice. They definitely know I'm a crazy cat guy.

The maid service gets the same warning every time*

* Yeah, I have a miad service. Someone has to keep the economy going. I do my own lawn and pool service but I DON'T clean.

The last time people tried to elimate free roaming cats it resulted in The Black Plague.

My brother had a cat die from licking some sort of glue/paste left over after the contractors went home for the day . . . so yeah, clearly better not to mess with having a cat around during construction.
