I was a bad kitty mommy the past few days

Last night Gabby left me some little poops on several spots on the carpet. She has NEVER messed outside of a litter box. I thought she might be sick or something. But then I remembered something I read here about messing outside the box and the first thing to do is to see if there is something wrong with the box itself. I knew it wasn't because of cleanliness because it gets cleaned out every day. When I was looking inside I realized the litter level was low. I had totally forgotten to putt additional litter in there to replace what came out when I cleaned it. Apparently Gabby likes a litter box that's really full. Poor thing was holding it until she couldn't physically hold it any more. I felt so bad and kept apologizing to Gabby over and over. Soon after I filled it up she used it to pee A LOT.

My kitty mommy lesson for the day is to make replacing some of the litter part of the morning cleaning.

Don't feel bad, she could have gone potty at any time, she was just being picky; you're still a good kitty mommy.

My only other experience with scooping litter was with a kitty I watched one summer (super easy and I got free rent for 3 months) and she wasn't picky about her litter at all. I don't know if scoopable litter was even around when I was a kid.

I'm happy it was just some little droppings and that she didn't pee on the carpet.
