sad day

the postman knocked this morning... there was a beautiful grey tabby boy dead in my drive. Clear traffic accident. I laid him on a warm blanket in a box and took him to the vet. No collow, no chip. So i went for a walk round the area, posting 'found' fliers. A little boy comes out of a house and informs me he knows who it belongs to...

I just broke the news to the parents of a little boy... I am sad as this little boy must be devestated.

That was very nice of you to find the owner. Poor family who had to find out the hard way about letting kitties roam (:

What an awful thing to have to do! My heart goes out to you and to the poor little kitty and his family. Big hugs all around.

That was such a nice thing to do, and certainly the RIGHT thing to do

It feels bad now, but you brought that family peace when 2-3 weeks from now, they would've been wondering why kitty never came back home.

That was a nice thing to do..and Frostpaw...just because you are in animal studies does not mean you do not have a heart.

What a terrible thing to have on your plate today

This is where my hackles always rise... I have a hard time holding my temper with humans.. its a fault I know I have but whenever I have to deal with something like this it is extremely hard to hold my tongue.

I think you should be very proud how you handled the situation. You remained sympathetic with the family and respectful of the cat. No matter what your studies are, you should find no fault in how you handled the situation or your feelings.

I would have handled it much worse

That was so great of you to hunt down the owners so they would know. I don't think it matters what you study or do for a living, death is hard.

Character is when you pull up your boots and deal with the hard stuff and my friend, you have lots of character.
