The other day, my Mom opened the sliding glass door to the backyard so Kaly Cat (my niece's formerly feral calico) could go outside for a while. Mom sat down to watch tv and accidentally fell asleep, which she normally wouldn't do while the door was open, but she hasn't been well lately.
when she woke up, there were 3 crawfish in the middle of the living room floor. 2 were dead, and Kaly Cat was tormenting the 3rd one. guess she wanted to have a crawfish feast!
Mom scooped them up in a dustpan, threw them outside and closed the door. At least it was crawfish and not lizards or snakes!
these ones live in the mud in the very back of the yard. its a large yard, and the back part of it is kind of marshy. You can tell where to find them since they build muddy 'volcanos' around the hole they burrowed in.
oh, btw, they live in Texas. There are actual crawfish farms nearby.
Our other name for crawfish is 'mudbugs'
