I've got a cat-sitting gig!

On the 17th. It appears that what's going to happen is I'm going to stop by an apartment while the tenant is in the hospital, feed, and play with Monster, and police his commode. I'd like to have bring Monster home with me to sit him, but he hasn't been screened for FLV...yet. Also he's unfixed.

Monster is a dark gray tabby. He has a thing with feet. I was sitting in his human's apartment when he removed my flip-flops and started head mashing, and biting my feet!

Erm...any tips?

Cats are much, much happier in their own home. How many times a day are you stopping by?

Maybe you could bring some novel toys by to keep Monster entertained and to deflect attention from your feet!

I guess she'll be staying at her pad.

I'm going to stop by once in the morning, and once in the evening, and I'll stay for a while.

That's what I do with my friend's cat, Pearl. After I do litter boxes and food and water, I sit down to see if she wants petted or played with, which she usually does. Even if she doesn't come to me right away, I just sit there reading a book for an hour or so.

Is this something you're thinking about doing often bluemilk? If this is a one-day gig, then that's a nice introduction to cat-sitting. The removing of flip-flop thing sounded adorable, head mashing your feet also sounded adorable - then you got to the biting...

I'd bring a toy, maybe a bigger toy make for bunny-kicking, that you could give him when he goes for your feet.

LOL! Well, I'm waiting for a call back...

Monster is very attached to his Meowmie! I think it's going to be a bit rough for him.

She never said HOW LONG she'd be in the hospital, she gave the impression it would be a few days... She's not very forthcoming with information.

Well, it looks like Gwen might not be needing a cat-sitter after all. She'll be getting her surgery and coming home the same day. I'm going to drop by anyway to see if she needs help with Monster, though.
