need some advice..please!

HELLO ALL. I HAVE A PROBLEM, I THINK MY CAT HAS FLEAS AND I NEED TO TAKE HER TO THE VET ON SATURDAY, BUT THE PROBLEM IS I CAN'T SEEM TO GET HER A CAT BAG WHENEVER WE HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE.ACTUALLY..... I HAVE NEVER HAD TO TAKE HER ANYWHERE BUT FROM THE ANIMAL SHELTER(WHICH THEY PUT HER IN THE BOX) AND THEN TO MY NEW HOME (WHERE ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND HAD THE HARDEST TIME TRYING TO GET HER IN). I MEAN THIS CAT WILL FIGHT YOU TILL THE COWS COME HOME, AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I KNOW SHE NEEDS A CHECK UP AND ALSO I NEED TO SEE WHY SHE IS SCRATCHING THE WAY SHE IS. SO I MADE AN APT.WITH THE VET ON SAT. BUT I NEED TO GET SOME HELP ON AN EASY WAY FOR THIS TRANSITION TO TAKE PLACE. I'M DESPERATE CAN ANY ONE HELP ME! )))

Have you tried leaving her carrier out and open so she can explore it? My kittens sometimes like to nap and play in theirs, so it just sits on the floor in their room. Try putting it out somewhere and put a few treats and some toys inside, and maybe a towel so it smells like home.

For the fleas, boil 2-3 lemons very thinly sliced with some chopped rosemary in a pot with a lot of water (~a gallon). Let it sit over night, strain, wash the cat with some citrus-scented soap (I used lemon joy on mine) and rinse with the lemon-rosemary water. Fleas hate the oils in citrus, and will actually jump off the cat! You will have to pick of and crush the fleas, but your cat will thank you. Make sure to change the babies bedding, and throw away your vacuum bag after cleaning. Also, you can add lemon oil and ground rosemary to talc or cornstarch and sprinkle that on rugs to kill flea eggs. I did the bathing and one dose of Frontline when I got my flea-ridden kittens, and I haven't seen one bug since.

Bag? Don't you have a standard cat carrier? It has got to be very difficult to get a cat into a bag. If you buy a carrier she may be curious about it and go right inside. She will feel more comfortable about the carrier if she can come and go as she pleases so don't lock her inside the first time she goes in.

Being that cats love to get into cardboard boxes, did you think of trying that? Can you get one with a stable lid? Pre-cut some holes in the sides for her to see out and give that a try if nothing else works.

Whatever you try, do it ahead of time to make sure it works so it doesn't come time for the vet and you can't get her in the box.

My old girlfriend had a cat that would run and hide as soon as the carrier was brought out. He was a tough one to get inside the carrier, put up a good fight. She ended up buying a ferret cage and because he didn't know what it was for, he didn't run from it... that is, the first time. After the trip to the vet it was a different story.
