New Kitten

Hello everyone!

I am new here, my girlfriend and I just recently adopted a little orange tabby kitten from a no kill adoption place through someone I knew.

We are picking up our kitten this friday nigh!

We are very excited to bring her back to her new home!

Any advice to begin with or stuff we should get?

All we have now is a carrier/cage... but we will be picking up a starter kit and kitten food and litter etc on Friday.

Make sure you have a scratching post! If you can get all the supplies early and open them up, they will begin to smell like you and your home, and less like plastic. Wash everything well, but don't use a smelly soap.

I recommend buying a cheap assortment of toys. I got a six-pack of balls for my kittens. They love 2, like 2 and never touch the others. Every cat will have its own favorite types of toys, and you don't want to invest in something expensive if kitty won't like it.

And get your kitten used to grooming, claw-clipping and toothbrushing early. It will make it so much easier later.

Best of luck to you and your little fluff ball!
