which flea medicine?

hey guys i want to get either front line or advantage for my cat...he doesnt have fleas but i want to use it just in case since he has gone outside couple of times before and i tend to over worry if i see him scratching himself lol are either of those good to prevent fleas or only when they have it? which one do u guys think i should buy?

I use and would recommend Revolution as it also protects against heartworms (transmitted from mosquito bites) round worms, hook worms and ear mites.
