My Kitty is Sick

My cat started throwing up last Saturday and I can't figure out why. I haven't changed the food she's eating. I thought maybe she just ate something that she shouldn't have and it would pass. I've been giving her food in small amounts throughout the week and she's been fine until this morning again she threw up. And when I look at what she's left the food she's thrown up doesn't look like it's been digested. The other thing is that we had a bag of catnip and home and it suddenly disappeared and i'm thinking she climbed up, got the catnip and ate it and that's what been making her sick. My son was the last one to have the catnip and I think he accidentally left it somewhere they can get to it. I still haven't found the catnip anywhere and I'm worried. I dont think it's hairballs because it's only food that's coming up and she's thrown up clear liquid (saliva?).

I plan on taking her to the vet but i was wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone. If she did eat the catnip can this be causing her to be sick?

Thanks for your insight.
