New cats!! - updated with photos

Not in my place - 4 is enough - although seeing this kitten was enough for me to try talking my bf into another.

I posted earlier in the feral cat section about my boss' rescue mission for a mother and kittens living under his deck. So I just went over to the office to see them - the mother looks like scully (only obviously a lot smaller) and the kitten is a gorgeous grey tabby. We are thinking about calling them shadow (kitten) and cinders (cinderella) for the mother - but if we keep them as shop cats the names have to be agreed on by every1 so my boss and I will just call them that and by the time every1 gets back they will be used to it Besides, hes the boss he can do as he pleases (in this case anyway)

I told him that rather than him drive for an hour to come in tomorrow I would go over (it is 10 mins from here) and check on them and feed them. (As well as take some photos of the gorgeous kitten)

Pictures of the new kitten!!!

As promised

I went over 'just to feed him' and ended up spending an hour and a half there! There is no way that kitten was too feral to give shots too, after an hour of playing he let me rub him and pet him without even hissing!

Anyway - here is the photos!

hes actually a sweety - he already trusts me enough to roll over and let me rub his tummy (well for a second or two before he rolls back over). My boyfriend however is complaining at spending half of christmas day at my office - but shadow is just so sweet, I can't resist.

The only problem being that he has clawed the papers in the in-tray he is sitting on in that photo so I hope its nothing important my boss wanted to keep - he hasn't clawed anything else though - strange that it would be the paper and not carpet or furniture or something. But I am thinking that maybe he was sitting there when the woman who lives in the apartment above our office let her 6 dogs out on the balcony (right over the room he is in) and it scared him and maybe he tried to burrow under the paper to hide?

I gave him some treats and a couple of fur mice and bits to play with as well as a few toys the munchkins haven't played with in a while. They got so many new toys for Christmas they won't notice (although Boomer was eyeing up the chicken soup for kittens I bought!!)

The mother is still hiding behind a sofa in the other spare office, she came out while I was gone to eat, I also gave her some of that whiskas cat milk with malt and vitamins to make sure she is getting all the vitamins she needs as she didn't eat at all yesterday and she finished the whole bowl of the cat milk I gave her. They both used the litter boses instead of the carpet too which was good.

I have a soft spot for grey tabby cats. (I have 2) This one sounds like a keeper. If I had a bigger home, I would have more than 3 cats for sure. Those are beautiful pictures.

Well I went to see him again today and he is much more trusting of us. We played with him with some string and gave him some scratches behind his ear - he has such a cute purr. My boss had left some dry food but he hasn't touched it - so i went to the local shop and they had some of those whiskas pouches. Wouldn't be my choice for my cats, but compared to the scraps he was getting living under the deck, it must have been a feast for him - he ate 2 whole pouches and half a carton of whiskas kitten milk.

I called my boss and told him how friendly the kitten is getting already - he is so mad that animal control said that he was too feral to keep and were going to euthanise him. I have spent less than 5 hours with him and he will already take a treat from my hand!

I still can't get the mother to come out from hiding while we are there, but she drank he cat milk and ate last night and is using the litter tray so she seems OK. I just hope the trucks from the warehouse don't freak them both out on tuesday morning when we are all back at work!
