What do you do with cat poop?

Ahhh, yes. One of the less pleasant chores of having cats. I suppose we've all developed a system, but after the odor just about knocked me out this afternoon, plus there was something growing in the bagged poop, I'm open to finding out if there's a better way.

My system is: I bought a four-gallon container with hinged air-sealing lid. (Actually it's sold for pet food). Then I line it with 2 four-gallon plastic trash bags. The poop gets stored in there until I can't stand the odor when it's open any more (about a week), and then the tie-wrapped bags get put in the trash. How can poop odor leak through double bags? It can. Plus the plastic of the container absorbs it, so I'll have to buy a new one.

Tell me about your system, and vote in the poll.

We double bag the litter and throw it in the trash.

Currently bag it and trash it. However, have thought about drying it out and packaging it as dog treats....call it Cat Scat Dog Treats

Okay, now that you're back from throwing up, cat urine, in sufficient quantities, will kill plants. Don't know about the poop. I'm waiting for next seasons peanut crop to see the effects on the field next door.

Tim, nice to see you've got an Avatar!!

Thanks, Spike, watch that space.

Jeannie - after thinking about it some more, I decided I'm really looking for a viable poll, and since I've already got one joke response in there (rainy day), I don't need two, and the one about spreading it might lead someone to think it is a viable option, despite our disclaimers. I tried to edit the original post, but wasn't given the option to edit the poll options. Do you, as Moderator, have the capability to delete a poll option? If you can, or another Mod reads this, please delete the option about spreading it. Thank you!!

Sorry about the joke Tim. I did answer the poll honestly tho'. Just couldn't resist the dog thing though. Folks with both dogs and cats can relate.

It's OK Spike, I got your joke, and didn't have any problem with it. No need to apologize. It was Jeanie's concern that option might be taken seriously by someone as a viable option, and after some thought I agreed with her, so that's why I requested it be deleted.

OKAY, I get it now. Duh... the joke you were refering to was your joke poll response I'm always telling my wife that she thinks the world revolves around her, and here I did the same thing. It's just that most people think my sense of humor is a bit...shall we say over the line.
