Ok, just have to keep reminding myself this picture was photoshopped...maintain...maintain...

<deep breath>
That picture just scared me. I have a friend who lost his terrier to an owl on a hike some years ago. Don't like predatory birds in the same frame with small fuzzies.

Okay, my soul is cleansed now. Back to our regular programming.

I don't know...a friend emailed it to me...it's a superb job if it is; you can even see the cat's whisker against the background.

I'm with Gudewife, that picture really scared me. My friend had a rabbit taken by a hawk right next to her and kittens around have been known to be carried off

Yup. My friend was with his dog, on a loose leash, and he was taken so off guard that he tripped over a root and the leash got pulled out of his hand. He still hasn't gotten over it, and it happened years ago.

Assumpta is terrified of owls; even if she hears one on TV, she runs and hides. She must have learned that lesson during her stray days.

I can't even think about this any more.

I looked at this image under 800% zoom in a graphics editing app, and honestly, if it's a fake, it's got me fooled, it sure looked real to me. There's no trace of editing around the cat's or the eagle's outlines, and even looks like a shadow under the paws of the cat and under the body of the eagle.

Might have been taken at one of those places where they keep wounded prey birds, and the eagle, not being capable of flight (or balancing itself), and maybe just having been fed, is not likely to attack the cat.

I sure wouldn't want my cat that close to an eagle, though.

Doesn't look fake. You can see reflections of both in the moisture on the railing. Scary.
