does he need the vet?

Well, my cat squirted out stinky white stuff that smelled like poop, and some of it got on his fur, so we cleaned it off. Then he kept licking it there and biting it, and now his skin was peeling off there, cause he kept biting it and licking it. around that area, it is going bald, and it spread a little bit, so we cut the fur from around it that hasnt already fallen off, and we cleaned it up. I was wondering if it was like.. a disease or something like that? or if it's just a bo-bo that we should just give time to heal. I put some gauze over it so that he won't keep licking it and stuff and it might heal. but if it is a disease or something.. then i'd liek to know so i can take him to the vet ^_^.

I never really heard of that before. It sounds pretty serious so yes, I'd definately take him to the vet for an examination
