You might have to just wait for the corpse to decompse. Several years ago in a duplex I was renting, there was an awful smell. I suspected a dead mouse, but couldn't find it. Finally, I went up in the attic, and followed my nose to where a mouse had fallen in BETWEEN the walls and died. There was no way to get to it, so I just had to endure it. The smell was gone in a couple weeks.

I can only empathize, Zalensia! I would use an enzume cleaner when you find the victim.

Well we have found the culprit!
And you wont believe it....

In the kitchen I had a packet of the dried 100% fish cat treats. The cats knocked them off the counter, they got a bit wet on the outside but I didnt think anything of it.... I put them on the mantle piece (above the fire)
Well we took the fire apart twice coz the smell was in that area, no luck
Then last night I got something in my eye and went to the mirror, also above the mantlepiece and the smell was super strong. I took all the letters off thinking maybe a little bird went up there. In the end it was the treats! I opened them up and OMG that was a mistake, inside was a mouldy gunk!!

But at least I found the smell! LOL!

Yay! At least it wasn't a dead mouse or bird or something. If you think about it, the treats would have that dead animal smell, especially being it's fish.

Glad you fouind where it was coming from I've had a mysterious smell in my garage for the last few days. I'm gonna have to try and find where it is coming from. Something tells me it isn't cat treats though
