weird things vets say

my cat lilly has only had fleas once in her life. we put a flea collar on her, it worked perfectly, and we just left it on. we attach her tags to it and she has worn it for years without problems. all the medication is worn off because it's so old, so it's just like a cheap plastic collar. so we took her to the vet for a routein checkup, get her rabies booster, etc. and the vet asked why we had a flea collar on her if she doesn't have fleas, we explained that she had flease once and we just left the collar on and it works fine as a normal collar, and she said "We don't have fleas in Spokane" my mom and I still joke about that.

Really?! A VET said that? I'm very surprised.

When I had Kayla in to get a front deformed tooth removed, I talked to the vet tech, since the vet was unavailable. The vet tech actually had the nerve to tell me that she wouldn't be in any pain when I asked about post-op care. I got so mad I told her she'd sure as heck be in pain if *her* tooth got yanked. So I went back later and relayed the conversation to the vet, and told her how disturbed I was about it.

Spokane! I'm from Clarkston, WA originally.

My cat and dog both had horrible fleas when we lived in the area. Weird vet.

They give them numbing medication(at least they did mine), so technically the tech was right--your cat would not be in pain. Go apologize.

If you've ever had your mouth numbed, or received a shot for pain, you would realize that it only lasts a short amount of time. Obviously her cat is still going to be in pain for more than a day.
