Help me get a new cat!

Okay, I need you to help me convince my mom to let me get a kitten. As you may have read in my previous post my boyfriend's cat is pregnant. They think she is only going to have two or three and I WANT ONE!

I am 23 years old, so it is not the my mom is worried about me being responsilbe and money is not an issue. I think she is just afraid that since we have three dogs and one cat that our home will turn into a zoo.

This is where you all come in. Give me thigns to tell my Mom to convince her that another cat is a good idea. Elliott needs someone to play with. Don't let me down people !

Well, the truth is that Elliott DOES need someone to play with. Cats are social by nature and should have another kitty to socialize with. Otherwise, they may get lonely (for mom and depressed. It is also good to have a playmate so your *indoor* cat gets enough *excercise* to keep her healthy, *i.e.: weight and heart issues.*

Good luck, Adrienne! <fingers crossed>

HAHAHAH I'm 23 also and I had a cat before when I was in College and brought it home when I graduated so Mom and Dad had NO choice because they don't want me to move out. (they're kind of older)

Pookie departed and then I was so sad and missed having a fuzzy bugger I did TONS of research and then told my mom I was off to look at the shelter with my boyfriend. She said "you can look but NO TOUCHING, NO MORE CATS"

I came home with a nice lil crate and OHHH a new Fuzzy bugger. This was only about a year ago when I was 22. Snuck him in to the house set up his littter and food and closed the bathroom door. lil later he opened the door and JUMPED out greeting my mom. SORRY MOM! It's TOO LATE! I LOVE HIM and HE's all MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She hated him and still pretends to but I know DEEP DOWN maybe REALLY DEEP she loves him and too and company he provides her when I'm not home. When I'm not home she spoils him rotten with canned foods and treats and plays with him non-stop with a laser pointer.

The Moral of my story is NO MATTER what MOM says she loves you and she will ACCEPT and LOVE a new cat!

I know she would love the cat. We are big animal people at my house. I just don't want to bring another cat home against my mom's wishes, especially since she is the one footing the bill for all the animals.

She has told me about 10 times not to even bring the kitten over because once she sees is she will want to keep it. I would rather her agree to having the kitten before I bring it over.
