Just brought back from the vet our new foster. He's a six month-old white w/ black-gray tail and 2 black splotches around his ears, really cute.
I named him Gerard, he showed up some months ago at the feral colony, likely dumped, didn't last but a few days and somebody took him in before I could take it to the vet.
A week ago G was again with the ferals, dirty and skinny. I asked around and nobody knew where he came we got him to the vet and this time I'll make sure the adopters are well screened..people from Nebraska be prepared to see adoption ads for Gerard online

I'll post pics in a while.

Can't believe how friendly he is! He has the loudest motor I have ever heard and otherwise is fine, cuddling up with his toy in the confinement room, didn't get him in the rec cage b/c I've it away for the ferals.
But, he does have fleas and tapeworms so he'll have to get that over before I put him up for adoption..since he's six mos, I hope it won't be too other cats have sniffed him under the door, one growled and walked away, the other growled and stayed put by the door (eventually left) and the third one went "snif, sniiiif..a new one uh? hi kid" and went back to his more interesting things to do..

The room Gerard is at is a partiton in
the basement, a bit flimsy, we keep patching it up. Most kitties we
had there have found a way out and so did Gerard twice yesterday.
The others don't bother him but Margaret chased him all over the
place. Now she keeps watch by the door all day unless she's
occupied (sleep, birdwachting, eating, etc) and growls, hisses wearing a
Mohawk..I know it isn't unusual at first until they get to know each
other but I'm afraid that if G gets out of the room she might try to
catch and kill him..from her past behavior (she returned to feral
once) I'm starting to think she would, I know some ferals
kill kittens b/c their hunting instinct is so strong a kitten
running around and squaking(sp) looks like prey to them, not only to
toms but other females the same time I'm afraid his
personality will deteriorate plus being in a small unventilated room
is no good for his health. Last night he got out and Margaret chased
him up the stairs into the pipes, finally we got him. After
separating everybody we took him upstairs and stayed with him
playing until he relaxed, almost midnight!
Now I feel he'll have to go to a home of his own ASAP..apologies for this
overextended msg!

Do you have a different room Gerard could stay in that he can't get out of?
