Sometimes I browse the newspaper on the internet, but I'm not a subscriber so I can't read all the articles. But I came across this today:

Pollen from lilies kills Siamese cat

LONDON -- An warning has been issued to pet owners after pollen from stargazer lilies bought in a supermarket killed John Harntett's Siamese cat Catalin.

Does anyone know anything more about this?

The toxicity of lilies varies considerably from one variety to another. I used to have a Peace Lilly (until one of my cats knocked it over :?) , and I caught them nibbling on the leaves every now and then without any adverse effects. It IS something I tried to prevent, but hey....you know how it is with cats!!
