Do cats of souls?

I think they do. My two guys are not only dear friends, they are spiritual guideposts for our family. Maybe the appropriate question is do all people have souls?

Does it make any difference in how you treat them?

I know what the bible says about animals-- but--- I know that my cat is not an animal to me!!! So, I don't know! I hope so. I would like to think she wil be there when I get there.

What does the Bible say about animals?
Any critter with a personality has to have a spirit inside.

The Bible says that there will be animals in Heaven - that's good enough for me!

Really?

I'm not one for religion, just never took to it. However, we have a highly judgemental receptionist who is all high and mighty about how religous he is... anyway, we were ordering new sympathy cards for pet losses, and one had a cute dog and cat with a halo sitting on a cloud, super sweet card. He refused to order them because "they'd send the wrong message" that we think the pets are going to heaven, when everyone knows they dont.

I mean, seriously - how much of a jerk can you be??

I do think they have souls. Can you really look into your pet's eyes and NOT think so?

Interesting question.

I've seen insects with personality, do they have souls? What about nematodes? Bacteria? Viruses? Prions?

I think cats do possess souls. Personality and the possession of a soul are not one and the same, IMO. I suppose a lively discussion of nemotodes can be found on the Nemotode Forum, but I'm not particularly interested in them since they are not my friends or my pets.

I feel that all animals have souls. And these can be the geese that I photographed today, a bird, my shubunkins as well as the snails in the fishtank, etc.
