thinking about getting kitty a persian playmate

well....my wife and i just got a kitten. we love it but really feel like it could use a feline friend to play and chum around with.

so, a teacher at her school just had a litter of flat-faced persians. they are all greyish black with a few brown markings. i've never been one to consider a purebred, but after visiting the kittens tonight, we're thinking about it! they seem to be much more gentle (though they do play) then our little DSH spitfire...would this cause any problems? we would get the new kitten, if we do, at 10 weeks old, at which point our kittens would be like 16 weeks and the new one, 10 weeks.

also, it seems like a good opportunity to get a persian, since i think it is relatively cheap and our kitten needs a playmate. the lady with the kittens had a persian cat and decided to breed it, so the four kittens have been in the house, playing, and having lots of human contact during their 7 weeks of life. oh, she said 100€, which is like $125 right now. i think this is cheaper than in the US.

so, that's that. any thoughts?

I posted most of this elsewhere but i will share it with you. Just do the intros real slow. since they are close in age I think it will work out ok. Just go slow and supervise.

Mischka 4 & Linx 3 still only tolerate each other. Linx & Sundance play rough alot but no one gets hurt and they keep going back to each other. I have walked in on Mischka & the baby playing not like Linx but fom behind the door or scratcher then when she sees me she'll give him a good swat & leave. (Not sure who she thinks she is fooling LOL). I have had Sundance for 2 months. They are teaching me patience! I kept them seperated for about a week then slowly left them together under supervision a little at a time. A slow process
