scruffing a cat?

is it okay to scruff a cat on the neck at least 3 times in a row in one day without hurting them? i have to do this everyday for the meantime because i need to give him nutri-cal supplement, he's not taking it on his own.

You won't hurt an adult cat if you also support the hindquarters while scruffing. (Depends on the weight of the cat ... a smaller, lighter cat you can scruff without support.) This takes two hands. I might suggest another way to give your cat something he doesn't want to take is to wrap him up in a towel. Tightly around the chest and forelegs, with the forelegs down, so he can't get them out of the towel.

You can also put it on one of his front legs and he will lick it off, but make sure you rub it on good or else he'll fling it off!

i tried the towel and i ended up pinning him so hard, he has no problem taking medication or vitamins when scruffing, i will use two hands with the bigger one though, thanks
