I had it on for the first time of the season to be serviced a couple days ago, and all three cats were spooked by the unfamiliar noise. I'm sure they'll get used to it.

Boomer LOVES it... but he also likes to be cold!

The others get freaked out when we first turn it on but it lasts for about twenty minutes and they are back.

I kept my condo cool all the time for Jazzy in the summer. I lived in a very hot two-flat prior to buying my condo, and it was non air and one of the hottest summers in Chicago that year. I often think about how awful Jazzy must have felt during that time. So I cranked my air when I bought my condo so my little baby never suffered again. My air doesn't make any noise, so she never knew when it was on or not... I just know and hope she was comfortable

I always turned on the AC earlier than I wanted to because the cats looked and acted like they were too warm. I'm the kind that doesn't want to turn it on until its 90 degrees outside.

The cats never seemed to notice or care about the noise.

I'm like you, Rob...I probably wouldn't turn on the AC at all in the summer if it weren't for Brandon -- he is an absolute toaster! The way I see it, I wait all winter for 80 degree weather so I can wear shorts and tank tops and go swimming, so AC is kind of defeating the purpose.

But my kitties need it too -- they spend a lot of time laying on their backs spread eagle in the summer. I know they get hot. Ours makes no noise and comes in through ceiling vents, so it's not really an issue.

Exactly, Julie. Until I am too hot to sleep at night the AC stays off. I grew up without it so maybe that's why it isn't as big of a deal to me.

Nothing but the vacuum and the fire alarm scares our cats.

The only thing they don't like about the central air is their beloved patio door gets closed.
