Kharma's Big Day!
Every Sunday we take Kharma to Patricks work (shh don't tell!) and let her socialise with his co-workers. She has really surprised me with how fast she has taken to the harness and leash. Yesterday was only her second day in it but she acted like a pro. first we stopped off at Baja Fresh and I waited in the car and took her out of the carrier while Pat got the food. Sooo many people came right up to the window and ooohed and ahhhed over her. She took it like a champ, and after I handed out antibacterial wipes I let them all pet her. She didn't flinch at all, she even purred!
Then we went on to Pats work, where she walked on the leash all the way through the building. Barely any prodding was needed on my part, i'd say "Follow Daddy" and she would! We all marched outside to let her play in the grass by the pond (Yes she has Frontline don't worry) She didn't like the leash here much, she wanted to run and frolic. We decided she needed one of those retractible leashes so we ordered one last night on Ebay. After about half an hour she got really tired and fell asleep so we decided it was time to go.
On the way home we had to stop at Petco because our kitty wand toy had broken yet again and we needed a replacement. We took her in and were amazed at the rudeness of people, unlike at Baja Fresh they crowded around me and started touching Kharma without even asking permission. I didn't want to be rude but this is a pet store, people own pets and with that comes transmittable germs. So I stepped back a bit and asked that if they were going to pet her would they please use an antibacterial wipe first. They gave me wierd looks and some walked away but some asked for a wipe and used it then continued to pet Kharma. I had no idea how many people did not know about the Bengal breed! They were all asking what kind of cat she was. Kharma purred the whole time but kept yawning so we knew it was time to go.
When we got home all 3 of us got into bed and decided a nap was in order. Not too long after, Envy and Chaos joined us and we all slept like babies.
