Special Needs sanctuaries

Has anybody heard of "Kitties in Heaven" a special needs kitty sanctuary in Iowa?
Do you know what protocol they follow with FIV+ cats?
I know very little abt sanctuaries, what do they do with cats that need steady medication? Or they take only "healthy"/2nd stage FIV's?
I was going to place a FIV+ cat there but he needs meds daily..
I would like to hear from somebody that has had experience with sanctuaries..thank-you very much!

One suggestion I can make from my experience with our shelter here. Alot of caring people drop animals off but it never crosses their minds to give a donation.

Vet bills for alot of animals that come thru the shelter are huge even with the discount we get. Plus our shelter is willing to supply meds for a life of a cat or dog if some is willing to give them a home. Which I think is so cool but it is financially draining because in essence they are support the animal the rest of their lives. That is a big commitement.
