I think I need to use the litterbox now

Why is it that cats decide they need to use the litterbox when you're scooping it? Unless I close the door to the room, anytime I'm scooping, one of them will come in and decide it's time to go. It was so funny and cute last week because I scooped the first box and while I was scooping the second box Barnaby started to use the first one. Seconds later Baxter climbed into the same box as Barnaby and started going at the same time. It would have been a cute picture but I would not have gotten my camera out in time. Plus that would be such an invasion of their privacy now wouldn't it?

I don't think they really "have" to go right at that particular time...it's that they don't like someone messing with their litterbox and immediately have to set it aright by remarking it with a little squirt.

Cats!! Right there when they only get in the way, but where are they when you want them?

Heehee, this thread is great for a chuckle. I just laughed picturing the 2 of 'em in the same box. Would have made a great pic, privacy notwithstanding! And it reminded me of my own little brats who do the same thing. Sometimes Kayla waits impatiently next to me, almost looking like she's doing the 'I need to go NOW' dance.

Jasper does the same thing! Right after the box is cleaned, he feels the need to mark it or something...

I think they believe it's their duty (not a pun...no!) to see that we do the job right! Precious follows my husband around and watches everything he does. If he's outside, she sits in the window. Of course, they follow me and supervise the bathroom, the bedroom, the couch, the kitchen.....etc., etc. I wonder what kind of grades I'm earning

Sabby usually sits just outside the bathroom door, supervising me. It's almost as if he's saying, "It's about time!"

'Nis, I think you have broken rule #47b in the Kitty's Manual, page 12, which states that all feline people owners must monitor bathroom activities. I hope you don't get reported to the kitty powers that be. Better watch your step! Poor Sabby!

Sid and Benny do the same thing! And once I caught them together in the same box, as well. (Not by Sid's choice!)

Benny speeds down the stairs when he hears what I'm doing to closely inspect my every move! He's such a good kitty that if Sid ever goes outside of the box, Benny spends his time trying to cover it by kicking litter out of the boxes! Poor guy!
