Introducing an additional cat

I had one cat since Dec. that we rescued off the streets.

Today we rescued another which is in very bad condition. The vet said she around 2 years old, has had 1 liter of kittens at least, is as skinny as a broom stick and is pretty beat up. She also has a chest infection causing her to sneeze many times every other minute.

But she is a good sweetheart and loves us just for trying to take her in.

When we bring the cat home from the vet, what are some good ways to introduce her to our current one (after she is mended)? She has already seen the cat from when we first rescued her in the middle of the night. You could hear her growling from the other end of the house. I will of course wait until she is better and has strength before attempting anything.

Go to, click on 'Education', then on 'Animal Behaviour'. On the left side under 'Cats', there's one titled ''Introducing a new cat to other pets'.

They also have numerous other handouts on behavior. Hope this helps!
