This letter concerns a recent cruelty-to-animals case, involving two
Northbridge MA residents—Allan Bessette, 42, and an unnamed
15-year-old male (his son!!!). Each faces charges stemming from their
alleged May 22 torture and abandonment of a stray cat near Quaker
Street. According to news sources, the pair trapped the animal and
doused him with gasoline before setting him ablaze. They are said to
have then dumped the ignited cat and stoned him as he ran into the
woods. An Uxbridge couple found the cat, since named Phoenix, later that
day and brought him to Tufts emergency veterinary clinic, where he has
evidently undergone multiple burn-trauma surgeries and is expected to
spend weeks in intensive care. For video and details see

I personally met Phoenix's rescues last night... his total bills at
Tufts were over $20,000!!!! This wonderful couple has agreed to adopt
him... he has been at Tufts for over three months now.
Welllllllllllll.... the man who did this has ALSO been in jail since he
was caught. How wonderful!!! As he should be. And NOW his case is coming
up and He is scheduled for trial by a six person jury on September 15th
at 9 AM in Room # 408. At the Worcester Court House.
I am hoping that you will all spread the word far and wide...please pass
this to everyone you know... please ask DA Conte to prosecute to the
full extent of the law. Now I'm not a big PETA fan...but this is a link
to the letter they wrote which is excellent

Here's the e-mail address for DA John Conte
Furthermore...if there is anyone out there that can be AT the court
house the day of the trial I would love to see people with signs and
pleas for the judge and DA to throw the book at this LOSER!!!!
please pass this on and PLEASE write a letter.
Consider attending a rally to show support for Phoenix!
