Pets & Animals Urgent Request!

> From: Pets & Animals in Distress
> Subject: Urgent Donation Request
> This is special Hurricane bulletin update from Pets & Animals in
Distress. Hurricane Katrina made landfall early evening last night that
directly hit our surrounding area in Broward County, Fl, (Fort Lauderdale
Area) with winds gusts reaching 90 mph. The storm arrived well ahead of the
Friday estimated arrival time that was predicted by the National weather
service, which left Pets & Animals in Distress volunteers scrambling
Thursday afternoon several hours before Katrina hit to help rescue and
evacuate over 40 cats and have them brought to one of our foster care
homes to be sheltered and taken care of until the hurricane had safely
passed over our area.
> We are glad to report that all the cats, several dogs, a goat, pig and
ourselves have weathered the storm out without any serious problems, except
for some downed trees, debris and major flooding that damaged the Gazebo
house flooring that sheltered the cats will now have to be replaced. We give
a special thank you prayer to God for watching over all of us for making it
through yet another Hurricane and pray for those on the gulf coast that are
now in harms way of Hurricane Katrina.
> As of today, Friday, August 26, 2005, 4 people were reported killed in
South Florida due the Hurricane, and there are over 1 Million people still
without power in south Florida and assessments are still beginning to come
in. Katrina has now left us and is expected to intensify into a Category
III or possibly a IV Hurricane, that has now turned to the Northeast
bringing the storm once again to our many animal friends on the Florida
Panhandle area sometime Sunday night/ Monday morning.
> Donations are now urgently needed to help with ongoing and future
hurricane animal relief projects. Pets & Animals in Distress once again is
asking for your financial support in these unfortunate times to help us
raise these critical donations to go to our "Hurricane Relief Fund". We
still have 3 more months left of a very volatile hurricane season still
remaining ahead of us, as our hurricane funds have been totally exhausted
now after 6 hurricanes in one year. Your tax-deductible donation small or
large will be used exclusively for ongoing and future hurricane animal
relief work and efforts to help with food, medical care and supplies.
Please help support Pets & Animals in Distress as we cannot do it without
your help in these critical times of need.
> Click the below link and go to our secure on-line donation page on the
following page.
> All donations of $25 or more will also receive (2) FREE Pet Alert Fire
Rescue Window Decals to help protect your pets in case of a fire or any
disaster emergency as a Special Thank You Gift!
> Pet Alert Decals can be viewed on our donation page below.
