Tomorrow evening the kitties are getting their checkups which means bringing in stool samples. This time last year we only had the two cats, this year there are three. How does one collect samples and be certain that I have them from all three?
Or I suppose you could put each one in a separate room with their own litterbox.
One of the problems collecting stool samples is that you need to collect it while it's fresh. Feces that gets covered by and stays in clay litter gets dessicated. And the vet tech can't use it that way.
I read a tip somewhere about filling the litterbox with beans instead of litter when wanting to collect a sample. But didn't get to try it this last go-around, because I was able to catch them all doing the deed.
When you get a nice, fresh sample, if it isn't going straight to the vet's office, then it needs to be refigerated to keep it fresh.
hmmm... maybe I'll give that job to the mil tomorrow Thanks Tim
I didn't know about keeping the stool refridgerated. This should be interesting. Especially me trying to haul three cats to the vet by myself.
