Important Question????

My friends cat just had baby's six weeks ago and we all seemed to read different resources for reference on the typical relaese age of a kitten from there mother and littermates.. I got home and started to research the the general realease age and I have found a couple of good, and trustworthy sites that say they shouldn't be realeased before twelve weeks. I'm concerned in the kittens future mental state and care enough about her to take her back to her mom if necessary. I just want some other opions on this matter to help me make the right decision for her.

Twelve weeks is the ideal age when a kittens can seperated from the mother. However they can go at 8 or 10 weeks if it is not possible for them to stay with the mother longer.

12 weeks is best. i've known many kittens taken away early and most turned out fine, the only "bad" thing i've seen as a result from it is taht some of the adult cats will still nurse on random objects.

I've always let mine go between 10 and 12 weeks. By then, the mothers are starting to reject them, anyway, in most cases.
