how many cats is too much?

what do you consider the cut-off for having too many cats? When do you go from cat lover to crazy cat lady?

I used to think two was too many.

Now I have five

I think it depends on if you have an outdoor enclosure or not.

Well.....I now have 4 so I guess 4 isn't too many. I do know it's my limit though, at least in our house. My son did officially tell me my name is now the Crazy Cat Lady.

I don't think any one answer applies to everyone. It's an individual thing. For some people taking care of one is all they can do, while others have many, many more and they have time, money, love, etc. to take care of them.

So, it's a case by case thing..

I used to think 3 was ridiculous...then I thought 4 was...now I have 4...lol, and I'll take in more if the need arises. I'm not actively looking for one because I'm at my limit for the time being...but if a cat needs a home I'd definitely give it one.

Number doesn't matter to me -- if I can provide love and food and the proper care for my cats, that's what's important. Each of my cats have their own personal time with me...but like I said, 4 is my limit right now. RIGHT NOW...lol.

I didn't vote because I didn't see an option that suited me. I don't think that 8+ is too many, it all depends on the person... as long as the cats are well cared for I think that it's fine. However, I do believe that one can have too many cats... 100, 200, etc... is too many IMO. I don't think that one person can properly give that many cats the one on one care, love, time & attention that they each deserve.

I never would have dreamed that I'd have 6 cats! I once thought that was too many & look at me now.

oops... I did it for cats that go outside too.
i chose 6 (probably because the most cats I have had in the past have been 5 - this has happened twice with a large gap inbetween.)

I chose 6 cuz that is how many I have, but I should have chosen "you can never have too many" cuz I think it depends.
For some people ONE is too many!

To me, it is dependent on the money and time you can invest in them.

I think, for indoor cats, it really depends on how big your living space is. If you live in a small apartment, it wouldn't be fair to have 8 cats since there is bound to be conflict. On the other hand, if you live in a large house, then I would say it might be ok.
