My foster kittens were adopted!

I went to check on the babies I bottle fed just to make sure they were doing okay and they've been adopted. The lady at the rescue said she had a ton of people interested in the male orange and white kitten, he seems to be everyone's favorite since he's so cuddly and fluffy. But she couldn't bare to have them seperated. She had a friend of hers come and visit and she fell in love with both of them and took them home to her two kids, ages 10 and 12(it didn't even cross the lady's mind to only take one)! I am extatic they got adopted, and together no less! You just have no idea how happy I am!

This Christmas season is wonderful for adoptions.

I wish more people would have kept their kittens for the Christmas adoption season instead of giving very young kittens to the animal shelter in the summer.

That's the thing though. People will adopt lots of cats and kittens durring the Christmas season but how many have a wonderful home? It's just neat to get a kitten durring this time, but the novilty wears off afterwards and many are then returned when they realize how much work cats are, though to me, cats seem to take a lot less work than dogs and even rabbits etc. They are very independent. But when someone gets their kids a gift of an animal for Christmas, the thought proccess that is there durring other times isn't there durring this time and they can sometimes get returned when the exitement wears off, you know?

Yeah, but that happens during the regular year, too.

For me, I would rather see people pay $$$$$ for kittens for Christmas. You'll be surprised. I tend to think the more a person pays for something, the more the person treasures it.

Which is by the way.

Also, I just thought about something else....

During Christmas season, even the hard-to-adopt semi-ferals and black kitties are adopted. That is better than nothing....

Also, so many people want to adopt kitties for Christmas that shelters can afford to have much more stringent measures to select good families for them.

I hope that Christmas would bring my local cat rescues $$$ in adoption fees, because I am really broke right now and I can't donate money.

Also, about the same time, a momma cat that would otherwise be extremely hard to adopt out was also adopted. The cat had a genetic defect that made her tail zig saggety from the tip to her bum. Now her two kittens, both with the same problems with their tails and one with a 3/4 tail from genetics are still up for adoption. Not only that, but they're solid black too. I really hope they get adopted but I was worried about mom mostly.
