eating cotton

My cat, Dreamer, eats lots of cotton (socks, clothing, toilet paper, kleeex, paper towels, etc) He has eaten holes in our clothes while we are sleeping!

He was destined for problems. This past week-end, he ended up in the ER having surgery for a blocked intestine at a cost of nearly $3,000.00

We haven't discussed this with the vet yet, so I would appreicate any suggestions to cure this behavior.

My Basil does that, too. It can be easily prevented by giving him bunches of bamboo leaves.

He loves that.
