reintroducing cats?

My little kitten, Fry, recently had surgery (see thread in the health and nutrition forum). We're keeping him in our room, separate from our other two cats. I am afraid that Kit will not re-accept Fry. She's been growling at him through the door. When Fry is well enough to join the other 2 cats, should we do proper introductions all over again?

Since there is growling I would definitely start slowly. You may not have to go as slowly as with initial introductions but I would at least start slowly and you can monitor how it's going. Cats bring in vet smells so your Fry smells like a different cat. Putting a little vanilla on all the cats, under their chins, by their cheeks, on the shoulder blades and at the base of their tails, helps to make them all smell the same.
